IQAC IQAC

The IQAC, with an objective to pursue quality enhancement and sustenance measures is making constant, consistent and catalytic improvement in the core activities and other related endeavours of the college. It has been working zealously to initiate and implement the broad objectives outlined under the purview of NAAC's four quadrant approach i.e. Infrastructural Growth, Empowering Students, Faculty and Non-Teaching Staff.

A procedure for software creation for Online Stock Maintenance was initiated. Monthly Salary Slips of the employees were made available online on the SmartProf App. All Provident Fund Records of Faculty Members (since 2000 till date) were digitalized. A monthly PF record is now automatically updated on the college app. A process to create individual Faculty's Profile on the college website was initiated. Creation of Information Centre to collect details of all college events/societies was initiated. To empower students, Punjabi Language Remedial Classes were conducted for first year students. The college added another feather to its infrastructural cap with the opening of the Mata Sahib Kaur Girls' Hostel in July 2018 along with a Medical Room in its premises. The usage of Solar Energy in Girls' Hostel was operationalized. A workshop on MS Excel was conducted for the benefit of the Placement Cell Team.

Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) for the years 2016-17 and 2017-18 were created. Drishti Undergraduate Colleges Survey 2018 was submitted. Meetings of the IQAC with Head of Departments and Internal Assessment Committee respectively, were held. Feedback Forms were reviewed and finalized. Domain based email-IDs were created for each Society/Club/Department. Creation of Google Classroom for systematized data collection in IQAC Information Centre was initiated. Digital ID Cards for Students, Faculty and Support Staff were created. IQAC along with the Head of Departments initiated the task of creating Question Banks for each subject/paper, for the benefit of the students and to facilitate their exam preparation.

Events

IQAC organised a National Symposium on April 24, 2018 on the topic, "Quality in Higher Education, Road to Employability". The Chief Guest for the Symposium was Shri M. Hamid Ansari, Former Vice President of India. The event witnessed several Speaker sessions from Industry experts and the Big Four companies: EY, KPMG, Deloitte and PwC.

The IQAC in collaboration with Research Committee organized a two-day Workshop on June 4-5, 2018 on "Smart e-Office Techniques 1.0 @2018: Stock Management and Data Handling Techniques", in order to impart technical skills to the Non-Teaching Staff and with an aim to equip them with key Internet tools and enhance their soft skills. Dr. C.S. Dubey, Director, Campus of Open Learning and Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Delhi was the Chief Guest. Various sessions on Usage of Advanced Excel Techniques in Data Handling, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Stock Management, DPL and Library Administration, and Google Services were conducted by the respective Resource Persons from Academia, Research and Corporate arenas.

The IQAC and Department of Economics jointly organized an "Open Data Training Session" on January 23, 2019 in association with World Bank. The session was graced by Ms. Sunita Malhotra (Communication Associate, World Bank). It was a half day programme and the students were trained on how to access and use the World Bank open data sources.
