Enactus


Enactus SGGSCC, part of the global Enactus network, has emerged as a leader in student-led social entrepreneurship since 2012. With 12+ projects and a strong team of 90+ members, the society has addressed pressing socio-economic-environmental issues including waste management, water conservation, sanitation and menstrual hygiene, inclusion of the elderly and disabled, circular economy, urban greening, environmental restoration, and livelihood generation through its projects, namely Project Seher, Project Zariya, Project Nivaran, Project Neersa, Project Amanat, Project Dariya, Project Book a Plant, Project Amber, and Project Shuchita, each one demonstrating the dedication and social responsibility of the team to sustainable development and impactful community-driven work. Among its most recent notable initiatives, Project Seher and Project Zariya stand out as a comprehensive response to managing the problem of food and plastic waste.

Project Seher adopts a holistic approach to addressing food wastage across the supply chain—from farms, wholesale markets and household kitchens by converting them into usable products and also reducing the burden on landfill. It has impacted more than 15,240 lives, created 13 entrepreneurs and empowered 48 women directly involved in the value chain.

Project Zariya tackles not only plastic pollution but also empowers the visually impaired through a two-phase circular model producing - 3D-printed smart canes and durable material for eyewear and sustainable sunglasses. The project has recycled over 2,50,000 kg of plastic, reduced 4,72,000 kg of emissions, created 11 entrepreneurs and runs regular collection drives and eye check-up camps. The society has also forged collaborations with certain governmental institutes and corporates such as Bisleri, Swiggy, MCD, Robinhood Army, Bintix, RHA, Ashaya Waste Recyclers, and many others, expanding the scale and credibility of its projects.

Enactus SGGSCC has presented their products to the Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms. Rekha Gupta, and the Minister for Environment, Food and Industries of Delhi, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa. The society was felicitated by the Government of Delhi during the 75th Van Mahotsav, and received a Letter of Appreciation from the Health Minister, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh for impactful work. Our products have been recognised by the Khadi Board of India, Ministry of Food, and the Solar Society of India for promoting sustainable practices and rural innovation.

Over the years, Enactus SGGSCC has won several awards and accolades for its projects at various esteemed institutions such as IITs, IIMs, DTU, DU Colleges. The society won the Enactus National Exposition in both 2022 and 2023 and proudly represented Team India at the Enactus World Cup in Puerto Rico and Amsterdam. It also won the Enactus Race to Rethink Plastic Competition in 2022. In August 2025, the society was ranked among India’s Top 20 teams and Semi-Finalist at the Enactus National Exposition.
