NCC


The National Cadet Corps is the Youth Wing of the Indian Armed Forces, established to impart skill and character development among the nation's youth, since 1949. The Corps establishes it's stance in inculcating 'Unity and Discipline', as forged in its motto. Sri Guru Gobind Singh College is affiliated to the 6 Delhi Battalion and 7 Delhi Girls Battalion of the National Cadet Corps. Apart from the basic military training in campus, the cadets are also exposed to training camps, where they are taught by Army Personnel. The Cadets are given immense opportunities to climb heir way up through different avenues to national and inter battalion level, through exposure in national camps like the Thal Sainik Camp, Republic Day Camp, IMA Attachment Camp, Army Attachment Camp, Para Training Camp, Trekking Camp and Marksmanship Camp. The NCC also caters for the select Cadets to Youth Exchange Programmes to various countries as student and cadet delegates of our country. In the past, YEP has been conducted in Russia, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Canada. NCC provides enough opportunities for cadets to rise up to senior ranks and enhance their leadership skills. Various other activities also take place at college level, in organizing social welfare programmes and outreach programmes. The cadets in the NCC inculcate characters of leadership, sportsmanship, dexterity, camaraderie, unity and discipline. The primary impetus of the cadets is directed by the NCC motto 'Unity and Discipline'.
